چکیده

In this paper we propose a multiscale traffic model, based on the family of Generic Second Order Models, which integrates multiple trajectory data into velocity function. This combination second order macroscopic model with microscopic information allows us to reproduce significant variations in speed and acceleration that strongly influence emissions. We obtain accurate approximations even few data. The proposed approach is therefore computationally efficient highly tool for calculating quantities estimating emissions.

Resurrection of "Second Order" Models of Traffic Flow
We introduce a new “second order” model of traffic flow. As noted in [C. Daganzo, Requiem for second-order fluid with approximation to traffic flow, Transportation Res. Part B, 29 (1995), pp. 277–286], the previous “second order” models, i.e., models with two equations (mass and “momentum”), lead to nonphysical effects, probably because they try to mimic the gas dynamics equations, with an unre...
متن کاملData-Fitted Second-Order Macroscopic Production Models
Starting from discrete event simulations based on sampled data we simulate the interplay between product density and flux. Data-fitting helps to determine the right parameters for clearing functions to close first and second order conservation laws. For the first order case well-known relations from M/M/1-queuing theory can be reproduced and numerically extended to transient behavior. To includ...
متن کاملAveraging principle for second-order approximation of heterogeneous models with homogeneous models.
Typically, models with a heterogeneous property are considerably harder to analyze than the corresponding homogeneous models, in which the heterogeneous property is replaced by its average value. In this study we show that any outcome of a heterogeneous model that satisfies the two properties of differentiability and symmetry is O(ε(2)) equivalent to the outcome of the corresponding homogeneous...
متن کاملPredicting Traffic Accidents Through Heterogeneous Urban Data: A Case Study
With the urbanization process around the globe, traffic accidents have undergone a rapid growth in recent decades, causing significant life and property losses. Predicting traffic accidents is a crucial problem to improving transportation and public safety as well as safe routing. However, the problem is also challenging due to the imbalanced classes, spatial heterogeneity, and the non-linear r...
متن کاملAn improved second-order continuum traffic model
We construct a second-order continuum traffic model by using an iterative procedure in order to derive a constitutive relation for the traffic pressure which is similar to the Navier–Stokes equation for ordinary fluids. Our second-order traffic model represents an improvement on the traffic model suggested by Kerner and Konhäuser since the iterative procedure introduces, in the constitutive rel...
